Recommended Tail Light Vinyl

Can anyone recommend a good vinyl to tint my 5.0 red tails about 35% or 20%?
I tried this cheap Black Magic **** and it doesn't apply well.
Niteshades is out of the question, looking for a vinyl.

Also any tips to get around the right side where the light dips down and curves? Can't seem to get it smooth...

Ive never done vinyl, niteshades is pretty easy to control. Even if you get it too dark you can just wetsand a little off. Throw some clear coat on there and it looks like glass!

But if you insist on vinyl, taking the tail light out would be easier than leaving it in to do the job. If you already have the trunk open thats about half the work lol

I'm just scared if I do nite shades it will look way blacker than I want. I did my clear sidemarkers with 2 coats of VHT and they were almost blacked out. I was after a sort of tinted/smoked 20% look for the tails.

Whats the clear coat you used on top of the niteshades? any pics of the final product?

Those guys have good quality products, shipping was very fast, and the price is very reasonable. They also stock a very wide variety of items.

Patience, heat gun, proper applicator (not a credit card), and soapy water in a spray container.

OAN: Nightshades is great, but if it fades (it will) then you're pretty much stuck with replacing headlights or extensive work.
Vinyl is the smarter way to go, it lasts longer, and if/when it ever fades, you just peal it off/replace it.
