Short ram intake filter sucking hood

I've notice the filter touches the hood and when i step on it, acceleration lags.
Could this be the problem? What can i use for the intake so it wont touch the hood?

Do you have just filter attached to stock piping or aftermarket piping?

But either case didn't know the filter moved that much. Make sure everything is secure.

I don't think I had that issue with my generic filter but def don't have now because JWT pop comes with bracket to secure filter.

I'm just going to go to lowes, homedepot, etc..., and find a aluminum stick to hold the filter.

Are you saying there's no support... just the MAF housing, some couplers and the pop-charger? And the thing is flopping around so bad that you can hear it knocking on the hood?

  1. Go to Home Depot.
  2. Buy a thick, flat length of aluminum.
  3. Cut a piece to length.
  4. Drill some holes.
  5. Twist it in the vice to shape.
  6. Install.

Then toss out your first effort and start over. Eventually, it will be perfect.

(Damn. You beat my post by 1 minute, OP, with this exactly in mind. Well... good luck, then.)
