Tint the outside man. Don't even bother trying to open up the tails.

The best way is to tint the outside. Only way i recommend to open the taillight is if your gonna paint it all red. Planning on doing that soon after the brembo calipers and rotors are installed.

And yes, he used spray tinting. TESTORS Candy apple red.

The rear bumper is just painted, nothing fancy, looks great in the picture but with all due respect to him (great guy), it looks kind of ghetto in a colour picture and at different angles, as such, I suspect it doesn't look great in person. I was considering this route and decided against it, I planned on using a trim piece to section the different colours, etc

If you plan to open the tail lights use a blow dryer or heat gun to heat up the glue

I didn't know there was glue in the tail lights. Learn something new every day!

Actually the newb is correct, the tailights are sealed to the trunk using a similar sealant that they use in the headlights. You can't just unbolt them and pull them out, you need to heat up the sealant.

Reading >>> You.

The newb was talking about OPENING the tail lights themselves, not removing them from the trunk.

yes there is a sealant that is used and its black. It prevents water from getting in the trunk. From what i've been though already oem/ebay replacement taillight are glued. no HEAT will unseal them i promise you. plz don't do it
