Door ding repair

I venture out for some Christmas shopping and when I return, I've got a small dent in the rear door of my new Max.
Anyway, since it a small, shallow door ding with no paint damage, I would like to try a fix without dismantling the door and tapping it out. I've heard that dry ice can be used for this.
Any of you guys tried this or know the procedure?
I didn't see anything in the 'How To's/FAQ'
Thanks

I've tried this before with no success. I had a small dent on my Explorer's roof from a golf ball. Applied dry ice for up to 10 min but the dent did not pop out.

I would be weary to try this with the condition of the Nissan paint. You may cause the paint to contract and peel off the car. Just a thought.

damn, that must suck......some people should really watch when they open their door. It scratches both cars. If the dumb@ss actually watches, there wouldn't be crap like this happening....jeeezz.. We got a ding on ours about 2 days after we picked it up...

this summer....

I got a horrible door ding. even scuffed the paint alittle. I used Dent Doctor (a national chain). It cost $72 and I would bet you couldnt find it now. well, the paint was scuffed so in the right light you might see if you looked for it. Overall I was very happy. 72 is alot, but each ding they fix after that is alittle cheaper.

I dont know about shops in your area, I've heard mixed results. I went once with a honda that had the door shot with a BB. They just said, 'the ding is too deep and too drastic, it wont come out well enough, we'd rather not do it. go spend your money getting that filled and painted.'

As for the one on my max, I was getting all nosey and asking 100 questions, the guy just said "only people that care have their door dings fixed for $70. Look in the bay, there's a 740i and an A6. Only people that are picky would even come here anyway." He was right. he even buffed it and waxed the door on the paint scuff. Again, your mileage will vary, but around here, I've seen them do great work. Even saw them take out a dent from a riding lawn mower and a small accident. Those were more major and you could still *kinda* see where something had happened, but you really had to look for it. From 5ft it was invisible on those bigger dents.
