CD Light

I have a stupid question. The other night me and boyfriend were driving and he wanted to put a CD - and he had to put the dome light on to insert the cd - because he said that there was no back light on the CD player??

I have never had a car with a CD player so I am clueless - is this something that the car should have come with?

I have a 2001 SE with the standard cd/radio.

Any input would be great

I have had the same frustration, I have a 2000 and you have to turn on the dome to see the CD slot at night. Just another "quirk" of the Maxima we have to put up with - but it's worth it.
