Removing the cigarette lighter in a gle 2000 model

Hey All

Tried searching for my answer but the search engine came up with nothing.

Issue my iPhone car charger broke off and the end part of the charger is stuck in the cigarette lighter. I have tried using pliers but no go it looks like I need to remove the outlet to pop it open.

Any idea how to remove the whole outlet so I can pop the dam piece out.

Thanks in advance

I think you'll have to pop out the whole piece to get to it. Anyone know if there's a way to take out the ash tray?

In response to the cigar lighter you need to remove the whole molding to get to the outlet and from the back of the peace you will press the clips that hold the outlet in place and it should come right out.

The ash tray just slides out revealing a philips screw to remove the molding. it should only take a finger pull to remove.

playtoy I believe the ciggy lighter is built into the plastic cover for that part of the dash.

Follow the directions here

See that picture where they remove the plug from the cigarette lighter? I think the actual lighter socket is bonded to that plastic so you will have to junk yard/courtesy that plastic dash bit.
