HVAC Replacement White LED - Part #'s - Pictures

I know there are a ton of threads on LED replacements, but I never seemed to find part #'s easily. They are spread all over different threads.

So, I already replaced the dash bulbs with the warm white 74-xHP3 SMD LED Bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com

My HVAC bulbs have been out for quite a few years now and after doing the dash, I really got the desire to get the HVAC working again. So, $5.95 later, this is what I did.

Step one. Removed HVAC stock mini bulbs from holders.

Step two. Replaced with white LED's and resistor's using stock holders.

Step three. Reinstalled...

PARTS:
#276-0017 - 5mm High Brightness White LED (2 per pkg) x 2
#271-1315 - 330-Ohm 1/4 watt 5% resistor (5 per pkg)

The LED's are 7000mcd, 3.3V at 25mA

Considering the low price, simple drive to my local Radio Shack, and ease of installation using factory bulb holders, I am very pleased with results.

Now if I only didnt blow the 4th LED during testing, I could have done the courtesy light under the HVAC. Oh well, stock for now.

hmmm, this is tempting. My HVAC lighting has been off since I got my car. I might have to do this this weekend.

Out if curiosity... Why didn't you use mini resisters? Might have given you more clearance if you needed for fitment purposes. Only reason why I bring it up is cause i see you kind of wax coated the extra metal on the resister legs... either way bro nice install lights look good.

That's all Radio Shack had. And luckily, didn't have any major fitment issues. And I just covered the wires with hot glue from glue gun as a precautionary measure to keep wires from touching each other.

Neo4 Cool White - can't remember if I got the 100 or 120 beam pattern, but I'd go with 120 if I were everyone...

Yea, but it was a Sunday afternoon, I was bored, wanted it done immediately, and Radio Shack was right down the street. ;-)

I did the same thing as you did OP. Did you change the "mood" light as well?

Yes and no. I was going to but thought I blew out the 4th LED that I had, so I replaced with a standard bulb that I had in storage, then later that night tested the "blown" LED and it worked.

Dash was back together by then. Will prob swap out this week.
