What's with the recent influx of people asking if their maxima can beat a variety of cars? Why don't you people just find a deserted road and race...no matter what anyone says, real world experience outweighs the belief/opinion of others.

Oh, will my car X beat car Y?

U got a point SCC..er...uh DrivenEF9, sorry
Street races are totally different form track racing. All the Hp/Tq fugres down't mean squat, cuz I've lost to cars that have less hp than me, and I've beaten cars that have more hp than me and are 5spd, BTW I'm auto, so I agree with you

Just make sure you got some spotters at the end of that desserted road though.

I use to be the same way !!!

Now I can say size doesn't matter!!!

but, it's kinda fun in the right environment, even on the street if everybody knows when to quit or back off. The older I get the more I like a well balanced car sexy styling (non boy-toy), above average performance, high level of fit and finish, ....

Many people race cars that only do well in one dim, a lot of crappy cars can "go fast"!!!

besides I have already been arrested for speeding (with my other max cited for 120mph, but was approaching 140+ ), I love to drive, love to "race", love to win

now, most of the time I just play with myself!!!!

Wow, why don't you follow ADMAN's jokes too. Can't think of anything original, I see? It's ok, you seem like a tag-a-long who can't come up with his own jokes/thoughts...

I should be in the LA area in the middle of January for an open track event with NASA... why don't you bring your Maxima out and see how well YOU do. I'm sure it'll be fun watching you disappear in my rear-view mirror, then to lap you and watch you disappear again.

AFX... hehhehe those things were the best!

Est. 195bhp (got new cams) in 1950lb full tank, me in the car, curb weight.

That combo is good for high 13s or faster.

That is hillarious! Your say your running high 13's maybe low-mid 13's how bout 12's? Your throwing numbers around that you obviously have not even ran in your SuperCar! I have ran two CRX on the highway both were modded and both got smoked. I put about 10 cars at least on each one from bottom 3rd to mid 4th easy! I have two simple basic bolt ons (intake and y-pipe) and all the stock seats, spare etc.. like a normal street car. Other than suspension mods and sts my car is stock maxima. Not an engine swap rebuilt car in a CRX body rice rocket wannabe! Man I should sell my Maxima and Mack out in a 10+ year yellow rice CRX mobile. WoW Weee! What are all of us Maxima owners thinking????

Price seems about right!

Last post I read on supraforums was you bragging about the 15.9 you ran beating a Supra TT doing a warm up run! Poor kid!

What do you run? I never said I ran it, i said the combination is good for. I guess 2002 Maximas are all 17sec cars, since only a handful have ran them?

It's really simple, it's basic math actually. Here, i'll help you since you seem to lack the knowledge (which is understandable, hate something without knowledge of it, it's the basis of racism).

Engine
B16A1 (DOHC VTEC, 1.6L, base - 160bhp, 111tq)

Transmission
S1

Gearing
1st - 3.250
2nd - 2.052
3rd - 1.416
4th - 1.103
5th - 0.906
Reverse - 3.000
Final Reduction - 4.400

Car
1990 Honda CRX HF
1967lb curb weight

My particular car
completed gutted (approx. 156lbs removed, i weighed everything)
autopower rollcage

Put those together, you now have a 160bhp in a roughly 1950lb car. Add some skunk 2 cams, lighter valves, stiffer valve springs, cam gears, a good dyno session, a mugen chipped ecu that brings redline to 9500rpm (with 9300rpm safely usable), and you got an est. 195bhp engine (with accompaning I/h/e).

Granted, I haven't ran this car, but many people with the same setup have and have done as fast, if not faster than what I have quoted as a benchmark for the mod-stage.

I have ran two CRX on the highway both were modded and both got smoked. I put about 10 cars at least on each one from bottom 3rd to mid 4th easy!
Well, you ran riceboys like yourself. People who think their car is the fastest thing on the earth and have one or two mods. Yes, the average CRX is running around with basic bolts on that will make it a low 16, high 15 sec car. Not all that fast. And did I mention i worked a 5th (non 2002) Maxima the past week?

I have two simple basic bolt ons (intake and y-pipe) and all the stock seats, spare etc.. like a normal street car.
And you should. You have a DAILY DRIVER. my CRX is a RACE CAR. Very different. I drive my CRX only on the weekends. It's registered and insured, but not legal. I drive to and from the race track, and sometimes to the store when I don't want to drive my daily driver.

Man I should sell my Maxima and Mack out in a 10+ year yellow rice CRX mobile. WoW Weee! What are all of us Maxima owners thinking????
When you ever grow up and want to play with the big boys, you'll realize that racing a Maxima is foolish. Great engine, horrible chassis for racing. This is SANCTIONED, LEGAL, on a ROAD COURSE racing. Not what you and your buddies do on a saturday night on a deserted road.

You'll also start realizing racing is expensive. Unless you're highly funded, you begin as a budget racer, racing cheap, but effective cars. There's a handful of those kind:
early mustangs, early f-bodies, 1g RX7s, 1g/2g CRXs, early VWs, and 240z/260zs (there's a few more).

All these cars can be purchased for under $2000, and with $5K can be made very competitive in a road racing environment. Kind of logical to start with a proven race setup...but you wouldn't know that, would you. Believe me, you go try to professionally race a Maxima in a road course environment and you will get your heinie handed to you by every other car in your class.

I hope the gives ya some insight on why I race a CRX. Cheap, affordable, and you can buy almost anything for them. Why is it yellow? Sponsors like to have their ads visible... how do you make their ads visible, putting them on highly visible cars (and cars that win). Yellow is one extremely visible color. It's a business reason my friend.

you keep thinking i run 15.90s...hahhahah So, what do you run in your Maxima?

Oh, will my car X beat car Y?

without asking if your car will beat your friends' cars...just do it and let us know
it's not like ur not going to race your friends if we told u that u were the slower one anywayz...

unfortunately, nope. Probably 125tq.

BUT, as anyone who knows any better will tell you, you can get away with having little torque figures by having a lighter car and close gearing.
A 3300lb sedan will not do well with 111TQ as opposed to a 1950lb car which will work with it without complaining too much.
