That just doesn't look right. How did you get the lower half secured when it's supposed to clip in to something that isn't there?
Looks like a cat wizzed on your headlights and rad overflow, and you left it there to dry. Many times over. And what is that large plastic panel over the front, upper cross-member?

cat wizzed headlights and overflow, don't matter when your the first 5.7 gen sorry ive been working on something a little bigger than simply cleaning stuff. That will come when the car is painted, new overflow tank, and such.
Thats a air diffuser plate, its purpose not so big, more for looks, and i like it.
The one at the bumper and hood latch? na
Its a ghetto version of the ghetto air box mod.
LOL AT PPL finding stuff to point out on the 5.7 gen. Ignore the motor and engine cover (what this thread is about).
This is exactly why i dont like to post much, i just make threads showing how to do stuff. I have a hard time telling what is joking and whats not, maybe i take it wrong?

I don't really see it like that. I didn't do the swap and not tell anyone how to do it. I posted a TON of info on the swap, if someone was to read the whole thread they could do the swap. I see it more as a contribution to the community, and it opened doors for a lot of people. Maxima/Altima/Sentra anyone might want to use the new motor. This motor could be used as a stock replacement thats why im running the 02 ecu. If someone wants a better stock motor when theirs needs replacement get this one. Even for someone in a real racing situation that does it for a living.
It was more of a uncharted waters type deal. I didn't do it to be the only one, i hope many others follow, and maybe someone will build the motor instead of stock. Im still on stock cams .

That's truly a cool thing that you swapped a 7th gen V6 into your 5th gen. I'm slow, because it took me a little bit to realize what I was reading. Sorry. Respect for the swap, SurraTT. But if that's the only way to get a 7th gen engine cover to fasten securely, I'd say this thread is dead...
...unless the 7th gen front valve cover can swap onto the 5.5 engine. If I'm understanding this correctly, the VC is what supports the lower half of the 7th gen engine cover. Is that do-able, swapping the 7th gen front VC?

Thanks, i'm guessing you thought i had it all hacked up or something?
And yes the only way your gonna get the 7th gen engine cover is using the 7th gen intake and valve cover. And neither of those swap onto the 5.5 gen at all. So this is not going to be a swap 5.5 gens are doing.
Only reason i have the engine cover is cuz i swapped the 7the gen motor. And i done it because the cover was cheap and it makes the engine bay look stock, something i wanted to show with the swap, how clean the 7th gen motor looks in the 5.5 gen.
yess the thread is done now.
