Installed OBX Headers now I got a problem need help
So I just got my OBX Headers installed yesterday after purchasing them about a month ago never had the time to get them installed until yesterday purchased OEM gaskets (thxs to DaveB) for the setup. Now the problem I'm having is that when I'm driving I feel and hear noises, vibrations and something feels loose underneath the car I feel it underneath the drivers seat idk about the passenger b/c I haven't had a chance to check it. After calling the dude that did it for me he told me he didn't shave/cut the cross member and that maybe they're touching it other. I jacked up the car and checked this morning and they are touching each other everything else looks good and tight but I might be wrong. When driving around 20mph + I feel a knocking and vibration like something keeps on shifting in and out that sh*t is driving me crazy. Now do you guys thinks it's the ypipe and crossmember causing this problem since they're touching each other. Anything I should look for what I should I do. I know for a fact I'm going back to the shop that did it for me and have him take a look at it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thxs

Check your motor mounts
Engine movement could cause the xmember and exhaust pipe to hit/rub against it then that could cause the problem you're having.
Not EVERYONE has to shave the xmember when installing OBX's it's a hit or miss thing because it's OBX they make it bulk so they're going to be production variations here and there.

I took it back to where I got the headers installed and he's telling me he checked everything and that everything is nice and tight and its the cross member that needs to be trimmed funny thing is I told him he had to trim it but he didn't and he test drove my car after he installed the headers and he knew something was wrong but he thought that's how my Max was how it drove??? Might get a second opinion to see what's the problem idk we'll see tomorrow when I get it my Max back. I'll keep you guys posted.

So I spoke with the dude that I stalled my headers this morning and he's telling me that the ypipe and cross member are touching but it's not my problem. He's telling me he needs to built a rubber bracket to hold up the exhaust system since the OBX headers dont come with one he has to custom built one. I know for a fact I had one underneath my Car just trying to find out if there was another one underneath it???

If the y-pipe and crossmember are touching that IS a problem, its going to make noises as the engine moves. And over time it will rub its way through the flex.
Please do yourself a favor, and bring the car somewere else.
Tell them you need the crossmember shaved about 1/4 to 3/8" next to the flex and you want to add a hanger wi somewere after the flex section.

I added a hanger to my obx just after the flex , because it doesnt have one and the next hanger inst untill it turns after the resonator. makes the exhaust floppy

Hey you guys ^^^ it was the problems you just said mentioned. He did shave off the cross member and now the ypipe and the cross member don't touch and he customized the back bracket he put some rubber bushings I guess to balance the exhaust system and the ypipe idk but I might add another hanger or customize a bracket right where the stock one goes. Thxs everyone for your help
