The steering wheel may fit, but I'm sure you would loose your cruise control and steering wheel controls for the radio... I'm with you on this though, that's one thing I hate the most about our cars, the fugly, huge steering wheel... And it sucks because I have to stare at it everytime I drive...

Agreed, I paid some d**che bag on here $150 for the one off his wrecked max. Which was supposed to be in "good shape" (the whole reason I wanted another one, mine is f*cked). It isn't even heated and is pretty worn, with some gashes in it I doubt you could explain :S The 4th gens had a nice steering wheel as well, would they fit and couldn't you make the cruise buttons work?

A 6th gen user put a JDM Fairlady Z steering wheel on his. Didn't have to worry about any buttons, but as far as I know, he was able to get the airbag to sync up as well.

That steering wheel will fit in the 01 Maximas? I like it... and it's so clean.

the steering wheel should bolt up no problem and you should be able to get the buttons to work with a bit of wiring.

def. not a 2004 maxima.

looks like a g35 steering wheel

nissan titan steering wheel has a close resemblence to the same design and might be another alternative.

I thought 4th gens have pretty much the same steering wheel as a 5th?..

i thought i saw a skyline wheel in a maxima. GTR badge and all. I like the look of the 5.5 gen but i admit i feel like in steering a cruise ship. And combined with the excellent turning radius on our cars i think Nissan just wanted us to cruise the highways.

so basically you can buy a g35 steering wheel and try to source out a skyline airbag of the same color so it'll have the nissan logo instead of infiniti logo.

Also, the nissan versa steering wheel and airbag look very close to the same shape and design, the only difference is the buttons on the side are slightly different design or you can get the one with no buttons (from a base model versa). I bet the versa steering wheel will be a bit smaller in diameter than g35's which might help a bit.

I was on g35driver.com...

The radio controls are not a problem but the cruise control and that little mode button that scrolls through your mpg and temp would bother me... Have to skim through the G and the maxima wiring...

I had a brand new wheel also but this Texas summer heat just cracked it while it sat at the body shop...

not to be off topic but the g35 sedan front seats bolt up with out a problem, correct??

Well the DIY on G35driver for that swap has scrambled pics last I checked, maybe it's my comp?

Anyways I'd love to do this swap it would look great, but I guess the V35 wheels are quite hard to come by and very expensive when they do pop up.
