As the winter approaches, the temperature here in the NorthEast is getting quite low in the mornings.

I installed a heater at the bottom of the oil pan to avoid those morning cold starts...

Am I a fool for protecting my beloved Max too much?

if it works

you're not a fool. My car stalls 2 or 3 times unless I get on the gas right after I start it, on those deadly cold mornings.

Not at all!!

Having your car winterized in AK is a must (engine block, transmission, etc) -50 degrees is no joke on a car.

no offense man, but there is no need to dig up threads from a way back and add comments. if you have a question then just start a thread. since you are not donating and cannot search like myself, i cannot imagine going back through the threads and spending the time to comment on things from 3 years ago.

I realize it is an old thread, but I did read somewhere where most car manufacturers are installing the block heater on all their cars sold in Canada. Just my 2 cents.

None taken, I'm sitting bored at work and never thought about checkin post dates, I'm new to this forum stuff. I thought all this was up to date, but thanks to your concerns I know now.

Thanks Buddy!!
