Anyone ever use an engine flush
Anyone ever use an engine flush
My max has 140,000 miles on it,Thinking of using an engine flush on it,I work at a dealership and was going to use a BG kit,Just wanted everyone thoughts on the subject
I know some guys swear buy it and some stay away from it,I flushed the motor today after just changing the oil on friday and it looked black as night,Put new oil in it and filter(Used Synthetic)Ill probally wait a week and repeat the process..
I used the engine flush from Liqui Molly and I can say that it cleaned a lot of mud, gunk and debris in it without leakage problems.
Some people says that if you do a engine flush you remove "good" gunk in your engine that prevents leakage and even if this it's true then you probably got a lot of BAD gunk into your engine and more if you got a high mileage engine and don't do a regular maintenance schedule.
But if you want to use it it's your decision.

Some kind of mud that was formed by that damn Quaker State oil... You can see it and feel it just like mud. That was into the engine of my former car. Let me seek some pics of it to show you.
EDIT
A pic of the engine before the flush (Sentra 1.8 2001)

You can see the "mud" in the right side between sparks plugs 3 and 4

Every 5k Kms. At first I used Quaker State because a lot of people tell me that it was "the best oil" (yeah, sure...), but one day I changed the gasket of the valve cover and just freak out
when I saw that "mud". The anger and frustration was huge, just imagine all that debris in the deepest parts of the engine almost make me cry.
I just made the engine flush and change to Castrol and no more "mud" from that day.

I wouldnt know about any after market oil engine flushes,I use BG from my dealer i work for,It spilled out some pretty nasty stuff today,I just bought the car so now im left with a gunky motor that someone didnt take care of,I guess thats the horror of buying a used car huh
I don't know if I would use an engine flush or not. I would be nervous about any sludge buildup breaking off in a big chunk and it clogging something up. Then again after thinking about it for a minute, if I were to do a flush on my engine with 165,000 miles on it, I would want to remove the oil pan and give it a good scrubbing and to remove any chunks that would have broken loose.
BG makes good products. I used Auto RX on my car after I bought it before changing to synthetic. Auto RX is supposed to be more mild than most of the flushes to prevent large chunks of stuff from dislodging and getting caught somewhere important. Or at least that's what I have read.

With the way my car is burning oil, I thought it might be good idea. Because when my oil level goes down the oil gets dirty very fast. How about doing this and then seafoam thru the intake mani?
I'm tempted to use AutoRX, but I'm afraid it might do more harm than good. The longest interval I had between oil changes was 4,500, but I try to keep it between 3-4k. Car has been running fine so far at 117k, except for that damn CES light.
I bought my AE with 82k on the clock. I immediatly did one application of auto rx (sludge remover) and switched over to synthetic. have about 96k on it and car runs like a champ. I have done full maint. and get upward of 30mpg highway too.
I as well am going to use synthetic oil from this point on,Ill do another flush in a week and i should be good

look on auto-rx's website to answer all your questions. for $27, it doesnt hurt. and it helps switch to synthetic the proper way for higher mileage cars.
was a girl.Sorry, I can't find that pictures but I know that I take photos after the engine flush and let me tell you that all it almost shined like new after that.
