02 - Fresh Motor...Codes!

As the title states, I got a 2002 with a Fresh(er) motor...32k on the new one. Got a code that I can't shake...seems to be a tough one!

P0335 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Bank A - Malfunction

I replaced it today with one from Autozone with NO change at all. Rough start, misfiring and such....anyone?

never use a autozone pepboys etc sensor...nissan sensors are very sensitive and u shuld only use oem sensors...return that sensor and get a nissan sensor...

Go to the dealer and have them run your VIN to see if all TSBs/recalls have been fixed.

+1 on OEM crank sensors. I've seen a few threads where the autozone sensors just didn't work at all. Also, clean the connector thoroughly (as per another thread).

im had the same problem with my VQ30de Nissan sensor all the way. I learned my lesson with autozone advanced auto and pepboys.

op did you install the flywheel or flexplate correctly to where the sensor reads the tone ring correctly?

IIRC the FW/FP only goes on one way, iut has a dowel . Check grounds on that circuit.

if it checks out try the FSM procedure.

Did you have any problems before the install?

My car threw the same code and I changed the sensor and didn't do anything. Then I checked the coil pack and it was bad. Got my problem solved.

Dealer will run his VIN...his VIN is associated with the old engine.
