Weird Noise When Turning Right And Accelerating

This is a really weird and random problem, but I hear a very weird thumping/rubbing noise coming from my wheels. This sound only happens when I'm accelerating and turning right at the same time. When I'm just accelerating or just turning right, it doesn't do it; but only when doing both at the same time. If I'm turning right and let my foot off of the gas pedal, then the noise will stop. The noise is pretty loud, and has a rhythm to it that speeds up or slows down depending on the speed I'm traveling... As if there's something on my wheel, but I checked and there's nothing there.

Also while driving straight, I can feel and hear a similar thumping in my steering wheel that is also dependent on speed, but is more noticeable at lower speeds. This is more subtle than the other sound I just described.

Any idea what these could be?? I'm assuming they're probably related. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Check to see if your axle is fully seated in the trans.i had a issue like that on my old 03 and it turned out the drivers side axle was not fully seated.

I had very similar symptoms and it was the pass cv axle, it's pretty easy to replace and I think it was about $160

Before you go replacing your axle, check your power steering fluid. Mine has a small leak (as in takes a year for it to go from max to min) and I never suspected it to be the issue.

When I drove and made right turns with load or accelerating, I sometimes got a thumping noise. The more I pushed it, the faster the noise got and it was pretty noticeable.

Refilling my PS fluid with dexron iii ATF fixed the issue although I'm gonna need to fix the hose that's leaking.

As for your noise when going straight, I don't know what that is, but my suggestion for a cheaper possible fix is to make sure you have your power steering fluid to max.

I had similar problems....

Before going crazy and getting axles replaced; check to see that your hub-bearings arent worn.

Easily done:

1) jack up the car so that wheels arent touching the floor
2) See if you can wriggle or move any of the tires.

If they feel loose, that means you need a new hub-bearing. That can cause that problem as well.

Yeah I do have a power steering leak. Mine leaks out pretty fast, like I have to refill it once a week. I'll wait until I get that problem fixed to spend any money.

So did you just tighten up a bolt or something to seat it properly?

just that noise if you can hear it I'll try to get another video but it sounds internal as I've checked under the hood before and have not found a specific location

Your description suggests - quite strongly - that it's your passenger-side CV axle. Have somebody look at it; a good mechanic should be able to tell for sure.
