Anyone have continued issues with CAM sensors ?

Guys,

Have you had repeated issues with Cam sensors? I replaced them twice...and it keeps on happening. Someone from the dealership states it might be shorting out near the connectors or something.

Anyone experience this ?

Thanks

If you have been using aftermarket cam sensors, thats probably why. I first bought my max and the day i went to pick it up it wouldnt start. Took it to a guy on the nycmaxima forums who works at a reputable shop and in 3 mins tops he figured it out. Apparently the aftermarket ones are made of cheap plastic so they go bad quickly, oem ones use metal( i forget which kind) so they last much longer. he said if it ever went bad again, just bite the bullet and call a "stealership" -___-

so the cam and crank sensors should be bought by Nissan and NOT from an aftermarket store????

sometimes the aftermarket sensors will quickly go out of spec very quickly, at least out of what the ECU expects the values to be.
