VC Gasket replace

Good morning everyone, as the title says I just replaced the gaskets in the VC and Intake manifold because I found that the rear VC was leaking oil. Not an important leak but still enough to fall over the exhaust manifold and get all the back part of the engine and the steering rack stained with oil and debris.

It was a job of almost 5 hours! (with almost 40 Celsius Degrees and just being the first time taking apart the intake manifold also disconnecting vacuum hoses, sensors, removing screws, etc.)) It really was a PITA!

After a long battle with the damn screws (4 screws behind the motor and the heat core hoses doesn't help in anyway) I was ready to remove the intake manifold

I just "eeeeek!" when I saw the little leak.

Notice the oil stain almost all over the VC and where the IM sits. WTH!?

Oil and debris everywhere, damn!

It was a good idea bought the 3 gaskets instead of only the VC gaskets. All OEM babe!

It takes almost 5 hours of work because I cleaned all the Intake manifold of her.

The VIAS system it's working perfectly, all in place and no broken parts. I don't take pics of all the steps and parts because with the hands covered in dirt and oil I don't want to ruin my camera.

A little of dirt inside the VC but nothing to be worried and just wiped with a cloth and some cleaner.

The breather hose that connect both VC was broken and the main cause of a leak and an entrance for dirt and debris into the engine. Fixed!

It's just maintenance but she just response a little better.

Greetings.

Congrats on doing a great job. It's always rewarding to accomplish these things with your own hands. I just got through installing the NWP intake spacers which was a very similar job to what you did. I also added some time to the install because I had to clean the entire intake manifold with throttle body cleaner.
