Timing Chain woes! Need HELP.
Timing Chain woes! Need HELP.
My car has had the timing chain rattle for the past 50,000 miles. I currently have 120,000 miles on the car/motor. Well over the weekend I thought I had a coil problem because my car sounded like a subaru. Tested them all today to find they work fine. Hooked up the obd2 and had no codes showing a misfire so I was stumped. My chain has been making more noise recently and sounds pretty loud with the hood open. Took it to my friends shop and pulled the upper timing cover and realized the chain had stretched out quite a bit. At Idle my timing was spot on at 15 Degrees. Revved it up and it shot up to 37 degrees. Revved it again and it dropped all the way down to 7 degrees. I'm going to order the parts at Nissan for the timing chain and components and water pump tomorrow. What will be the easiest way to remove the motor? I have access to a full shop with lifts and etc. Just need to know whether it can come out from the bottom or the top.
Thanks in advance
