I think that the aux is added by the seller. There used to be a lot of head units on e-bay where the seller added it. If the aux connector was factory, you would have a button to select it like you have for CD, Radio and Tape.

no the the radio is from the 5.5gen maxima, note the power button is different... as far as the aux, it is added as an aftermarket add on, i am just curious to find out how he did add the aux logo on the screen...

I mean, I'm curious, too. He may know something about burning EEPROM or something. Who knows, but I don't remember factory radios ever having that... Cool, nonetheless.

It is from 2002-03 model. But if you look at the ad, there isn't a place for aux button. There is a small button on the display which I am thinking that is the button for aux?

If he did install the aux button and the input he is a genius!

I don't think the owner did the installs of aux input port and button. It is a massive work, not to say it can't be done but it is time consuming and one has to know exactly where to solder to! Not saying it isn't doable just saying it is more work than it looks!!!

Installing the aux input port is not a massive work it literally takes a few more minutes than adding the aux cable, honestly it is a stupid add on simply b/c if you pull the cable to hard or for what ever reason it gets disconnected from the aux port on the back of the radio you have to take everything apart, simply I do not see the need for the port on the back the cable on its own is just fine....
I am still amazed about the "AUX" on the screen....

That is part of the install, to display AUX thus making it a Massive work. And one of the reasons why I don't think the owner programmed and did all the work himself!

contated the vendor

I emailed the person ( John Nguyen I think) in the ebay ad. Here is his website. Looks like he does this for multiple radios.

www.factoryradioservice.com

He quoted $75 to install the Aux input with either a cable or female jack in the face of the radio + $17 shipping. About 2-3 days to install. I'm really thinking about it. I'm tired of my crappy Fm converter and trying to find clear stations.
