ball joint, axle or something else???

couple months now i have a noise-clicking noise coming from front of my car.. like from my tires, suspension (somewhere around there). I heard this noise everytime i turn all the way to the right or left my steering wheel.... so from your experience is it my ball joint, my axle? A while a go i went to the mechanic and im pretty sure they told me my ball joint are bad but i searched online and ball joint symptoms are different.

So this happens only when your turning? I had a ticking noise couple months ago and it was my brake disc shield rubbing on my brake disc.

I hear a loud metal clunk sound when I have the wheel turned all the way and I go up a curb (driveways mainly) a few people said ball joint for that, I think ticking are wheel bearings? Don't quote me on that though.

Did you take a look at your c.v. boots to see if they're torn?

I also had a problem with the dust plate. I also had a different noise while turning that was coming from the strut top. I thought there was a bearing in there, but just a plastic piece in its place. Anyway I lubed it up with some special grease for suspension parts and noise went away. Basically had to take the whole suspension apart to get at it.

Jack up the front wheels, disable traction control, and put the car in gear. Have a friend turn the wheel to full lock left and right, and while it's at lock, put a long screwdriver (or stethoscope even) to the hub area and see if you hear loud grumbling noises. That's the best way to determine if your wheel bearings are bad. My friend's max had a bad bearing on the left front, but while going and holding it at lock I noticed his control arm bushings were shot letting the arms move around excessively.

i had the same problem, it was my cv joint. replaced it with one from raxles, i replaced the strut bearings while i was at it. Dont forget once you take apart the front end you will have to get an alignment

I has this horrible clunking noise after lowering my car, I swapped out a lot of suspension parts but after all that it turned out to be my control arm. Might wanna take that into consideration

I had the same clicking sound a short bit ago. I thought it was a bad wheel bearing, but it ended up being a worn out hub. Cheap fix, even cheaper if you have a press and willing to do it yourself.
