Swapping trunk lids

Has anyone here swapped trunk lids before? Maybe you had a damaged one that you replaced or went wingless or something? If so, can you explain the process to me?

I know there's the 4 bolts that attach to the hinges that physically secure the trunk lid to the car. I won't have a problem with those.

Where I feel like I'm going to run into issues is with the wiring. I know there's a bunch running up the right hinge for the spoiler brake light, license plate lights, and some other things I'm probably forgetting.

How do you deal with these for the swap? I know the spoiler light just unplugs, but I don't know about the rest. These wires and how they're attached is what's kept me from fully removing my trunk lid before; I didn't know how to get them unattached.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Pictures to go along with your descriptions will be a huge help. It's kind of frustrating that it's so easy to physically remove it but the wiring complicates everything.

And in case anyone was wondering, the purpose of all this is so i can get rid of this fugly stupid thing finally:

We have'nt been much help to the op. (Who could blame us with the wide open post from our pal?)
It should be realativly straight forward. First, remove the trunk lid liner so that you can see where the wiring harness(es) go to. Then remove wire stays and disconnect and mark where each one goes.
Since it seems you're going spoilerless there willl be wires that do not connect to the 3rd brake light in the old spoiler. Tape them off well and fasten to the wiring harness.

Will it make any difference if I don't swap the key cylinder? I literally have not used it once and I doubt this will change, so if it won't make a difference besides that then is it necessary to do this?

It's quite simple to change over the lock, just unclip the metal rod and tap or pry the metal wedge. Installation is same but reversed. I just switched trunks with scarface.

Gotcha, so I may as well just take the time to do it. How hard was it to separate the wiring from the trunk lids when you did the swap?
