Agreed, our tachometers are calibrated by 3rd graders and read near 7100 for fuel cut.

If you look at that last video, you start moving at the 3 second mark, and hit 60 mph at the 9 second mark.

Seems about right to me.

Sounds great, OP.

I noticed that too but these cars were rated to go 0-60 at 6 seconds. Maybe the wear and tear brought that number down significantly and the mods he has done just brought the numbers back to where they were when the engine was new, or as pointed out, the shifting is not up to par.

...or that evaluating 0-60 times by eye-balling a youtube video is a less than exact measurement, LOL!

But you're right, the 6MT was consistently rated at 6.0 seconds or better.

So the engine speed is not really at 7100rpm its somewhere like 6700rpm or something? It just reads wrong correct?

yeh, I been had it in for like 2 months now. I already shipped it to SFR so they can make my custom manifold. They said they will be shipping it out today so I should expect it sometime next week. I'm so excited!

I don't think it wear and tear, I think its the driver... It was the early shift, I got off first somewhere around 5k and that forced 2nd gear to come in lower. I get crazy azz wheelspin when I let the thing go to redline in 1st, even when I'm light on the pedal, so its been a habit of mine to get off of it before it spins. If I was really racing someone I would probably let it go all the way.

Yeah, give or take, these tachs are known to read high.

Don't be so hard on yourself... you live in the Northeast and it's December.

Nobody can hook up with these conditions. I've been spinning 2nd gear at WOT, and I've got Eagle F1's. Or rather, I did until this past weekend. Now I'm on steelies and snows and it's no fun at all. The car gets all twisty and unmanageable with snows. (And these are high-speed, unidirectional Blizzaks, no less!)

Winter sucks. It just does.

I know man....it sucks. I was hoping to have my manifold and get it all tuned up by now, but i have to wait. It's been unusually warm here about 65 and it was 70 a few days ago. That just means the winter is going to be longer. We've only gotten one snow so far and it was REAL bad. Since then it hasn't snowed at all. But when it starts to snow I'll just drive the SUV and park the Maxima.

You guys crack me up. I got a GO pro used a few months back and have been dying to do a short vid and post but I have trouble finding a road with nobody on it, not in a neighborhood and with no cops around for me to make one. Good vid's.

Its good, does the job. It's not some cheap flemsy thing. I'm sure there is better but sure there are worse too. If you plan on doing a motion picture then I'd get something else. But just to have something to film in the car is fine...I used my small digital camera so it held up fine. I did not put a full size camcorder on it so I dont know how it holds up.

I love it when people point that stuff out. Heck, I live for that.

OP, have you considered mounting your camera to the rear window, zooming in a little, and getting a forward-facing perspective on your vids? That might be fun.

That might be fun, but I was using a little cannon digital camera and it only zooms in 3.0x and that is it. I'd have to actually get my camcorder probably pull the headrest up and then push the headrest down on it to hold it there, maybe even tape it so it doesn't fall out. I don't understand how people get that direct forward view on their tachs and speedometer while accelerating....are they holding the camera while driving or what??

3x optical should be totally fine.

Remove the headrest. Or better yet, recline the passenger seat all the way.

Now I want a window mount. I think it would be fun to play with. No, wait... winter.

yes the windows were up.
If you sandwich the camera between the headrest, you don't need to tape it. I've done it numerous times and its never fallen out on me.

2002 Maxima, 4AT, GAB, NWP block plate, Magnaflow test pipe. 45-85

I have a feeling my '04 Accord V6 would do that quicker. Definitely be more easy to see since the instrument panel is a lot brighter. My 6MT '02 would fore sure have been quicker.

EDIT-did one of the Accord tonight, had to let off a little earlier, was running out of straight road but acceleration seems similar to my 4AT 5.5 gen.
