See if you are getting 12 volts to the socket and see if the ground wire has continuity to ground.

You need to use a voltmeter. Thet are also referred to as a multimeter or a volt-ohm meter. You set the meter to measure volts and connect one probe of the meter to a known, good ground and press the other meter probe to the power wire in the lamp socket. Then change the meter to measure resistance (ohms) and press the probe into the ground wire of the lamp socket. DO NOT have the meter set on resistance and press the meter probe into the 12 volt wire. It will damage the meter.

I agree and a multimeter is a best friend to a nissan owner because as we all know, electrical problems always happen with our cars.

lol jokes. The flickering indicates intermittent voltage so its probably just a faulty ground somewhere or a wire was cut. simple fix don't worry my man.

good to hear. the grounds always get dirty and fail. Its good preventative maintenance to check them all periodically and even upgrade them to a better grade wire or connector. Remember though, you probably already know this, that the power wire and ground wire should always been the same gauge wire to ensure identical resistance.
