If you want to save yourself some money and don't feel like getting in on a group buy, go with BRM.

BRM FTW, you can choose SS or mild steel, what muffler you want (single or dual tip), what size resonator you want, and what diameter you want (2.25", 2.5", or 3"). You can even just get the piping and use your own muffler, they use all magnaflow parts so it sounds badass and you're getting quality parts. No other company offers such options for the Maxima or for Nissans period like they do and there is no waiting for group buys etc you order and you get your exhaust, Greg Childs of BRM has been making exhausts for many Nissans for years, I've dealt with him for my previous rides and trust his work.

Yea man i saw the site! Crazy i have never seen anything like that. Right now the car has obc headers and ypipe, straight pipe, i think stock, no cats and an obx muffler. I wanna change the whole pipes with either cattman or brm. Idk if i shud do 2.5 or 3". I still have a cutout but its currently off the car.

Yea no one is giving options to the Maxima like BRM is.

Depends what you want to do with the car? If you just want a good exhaust and some good power get the 2.5". If you want every last hp you can get out of the car, are going FI, or are planning to do a N/A build and don't care about sound get the 3". Just keep in mind the 3" is going to sound louder then a 2.5".

Well the previous owner did mad work, all bolt ons, port n polish, nwp spacers, torque link, all that. I have a wideband and a vafc so idk what i wanna do next lol. When cattman makes headers and pipes etc are they one size 2.5? Or do they make 3". If i do 3" and tune it will i get better gas mileage?

headers are usually around 2" and merge into a 2.25" or something like that, usually your headers are smaller diameter then your exhaust and thats how you want it to increase velocity of the exhaust gas. Cattman has tested this theory in the past.

Idkabout gas mileage, most of us who start building our cars and modding don't care about mpg much but usually a nice tune and breathing mods increase mpg a little, if you don't constantly floor it which is unlikely

If your planning on a build or FI, just save yourself the hassle and go 3" from now.

Lol damn you are informative! Thanks for the advice, im probably gonna go Brm, since cattman is expensive and not everyone has Brm. 3", if i do go that size then there is no point in the cutout. If i do 2.5 then i will keep it. I will keep you posted for the future, thank you so much!

No problem bro, that's the point of the forum. I like helping others with information I've gathered over the years. Lots of stuff doesn't make sense at first and if you ask the forums to tend to attack and flame without no info, and to me that **** is pathetic. SO I help others as much as I can.

The header collectors are 2.25" off the manifold and they merge together into a 2.5" ypipe collector/Outlet!
Yes I have all that and more! The 3" is installed currently, the 2.5" is used now and then myself and for those who wanna see how it performs and sounds on their car for a week or two! The 3" isn't louder than the 2.5" it's deeper and more quiet @ highway speeds, the 2.5" is raspier!....Cattman doesn't need all the option our **** is proven off the shelf already! Why change it now it virtually perfect! MES exhaust system is an option as well....I also have my OEM exhaust for the day I decide to sell the car.....I will unbolt all the mods!

Keywords @ highway speed, the 3" is louder then the 2.5", you can't just say its quieter at highway speeds, what kind of comparison is that?

Our? Who is our? Do you work for Cattman? Sure seems that way as you are constantly repping them. Options are options, if you can offer them for the type of enthusiast that wants certain things a certain way, you get a plus one over the company that can't. I know you're a hardcore Cattman "fan" I've seen your posts plenty, but there are other options then Cattman and they have their advantages as well. Instead of bashing another option you should be happy that these cars are getting options since compared to other vehicles we have the worst aftermarket support I have ever seen!

The altima SE-R.Ohhhhhh!!!! They are pretty hard to find here. My next option would of been the Infiniti G35 but they are also hard to find and when you do find them they go for around $600-800

2000_MAXIMA_KING was speaking with Greg Childs (BRM) about a group deal and I think he said they were going to throw it in a few months after the holidays when everyone is settled. Greg even stated that even if it was only 5 people he could give a nice discount. You may want to pm him, all you guys that are interested I will be as well. I think he is still banned on here but he's on my5thgen.org so if you go on there contact him for the details. He may be putting together a list.

I dont want to get into a battle Cattman vs BRM , but go with whatever you like, does anybody have oicturews of a actual BRM setup that they ordered for the Maxima, just want to see since I see they dont offer the 22'' Resonator on the 3'' every bit counts especially if you got some Headers...GL to you....
