2K2 SE - CD skipping

Hey guys, I've had a 2K2 SE with the premium audio package since early Oct. 2001. The CD changer didn't skip once until I got in the car the other day when it was ~15 degrees out and it skipped like mad for about 20 minutes. The problem seemed to clear itself up and I haven't been able to duplicate the issue again. Anyone else have an issue like this?

Thanks,
Kerr

Condensation?

Maybe it that. Cold weather, car warms up and cause it to skip until its clear. I have problems with moisture in general in my car. Do you have to run the defrost almost constantly until the car warms up?

Service guy said the cold temps causes the CD player to skip every now and then. I wouldn't be concern.

Mine skips too when I leave it outside overnightin the cold, usually I keep the car in the garage. One thing I noticed is that one time it skipped a little, so I took the CD out to see if it was dirty. The CD had a little moisture on it. Moisture in a CD player can't be good. Anyway, After I cleaned the moisture off it worked fine.

Also, is this happening only with the BOSE systems? or do some of you have the single CD player and it skips as well.

I didn't check for condensation because the car was garaged right before my problem cropped up. If it happens again, I'll definitely check. I am also curious as to whether this problem is only afflicting the Bose 6 CD changer systems or also the base cd players.

The manual explains that this will happen if moisture gets in to the CD rack.It has only happened to me once when it was like 22degrees out. It lasted for about 10 minutes util the car got warmed up.

Definetely a moisture problem...Remember, CD player has a laser reading the little holes on the CD and translates that into music... So if moisture prevents the correct reading, synch is lost and it jumps...

I live in Montreal (pretty cold per US standards... ), I don't have a garage and my Max never had this problem in 2 years (GXE with upgraded sound system, not the Bose though
