Suprastick?
#5
Suprastick was originally developed for the Toyota Supra and Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC300.
It is a means of controlling the automatic transmission through steering mounted paddle shifters by using a piggy back system on the ecu.
It was designed to give the driver control of upshifts more so than downshifts, so using it to engine break is generally not used much if I remember right.
Many people have adapted the setup to work with other car's ecu's with success including the Maxima. Someone on the .org had a write up a couple years ago on it. Search for it, you'll find it.
