Hey guys so I got the p0135 code. I bought a universal o2 sensor but I did not realize that bank 1 sensor 1 (black) has only 3 wires and I ordered a 4 wire by accident. I heard this is still possible and read around somewhere that you can still use the sensor you just leave the 4th wire (gray wire) unconnected. I connected both white wires and the black wire and left the gray wire out and still I got the light. I tried grounding the gray wire and still the same thing. Has anybody tried it and have success?

I have a 2000 cali spec. 100k

What are the wires supposed to connect to? Do you have some wiring info on that sensor?

Yeah thank you for your reply. This is the color coding diagram they sent with the sensor.



The harness on the car has 2 white wires and 1 black.

The new sensor has 2 white wires, 1 black, 1 gray

Gray (ground)
2 whites (heater)
