Weird whine coming from front end...help !

Guys,

Last week, a weird whine started coming up when i started the car. It seemed as if it were trans related, but when i put car in N, sound still exists. It sounds like something is hitting something. Its a slight whine, and the car has been driving rough. no CEL. Had a cel, p0420..but it went away.

Car is driving with less power, and MPG has gone down a bit. Im uploading videos right now of the issue. Ill put em up then. Oil, trans fluid, all is ok. Idk if its PS pump either....PS works fine, however i think there is a minor leak.

I've never heard what a clogged cat(s) sounds like, but this may be what you are experiencing since you state there is no pull or power. Top right could be your y-pipe on the rear bank.

You have to pull your exhaust apart to visually inspect for any clogging.

hmm...should i try seafoaming it ? If it is clogged, does that mean i have to replace the whole exhaust, or only the pre-cats and cats

You can try it, but Seafoam won't do anything for a clogged cat. You just need to replace the cat(s) that is clogged. It will likely be one of the pre-cats.

Went to my friends house. Found out it is indeed the pre-cats. They sound bad, and performance is shat.

What is the best route to go to get this fixed ? I heard i can get headers, and get anti-foulers and that should do the trick. Anyone use this trick ?
