Launch problem

I got a 2K2 SE Auto and when I launch at 1/2 throttle, I get wheel spin. I tried torque breaking to 2000 RPM and the wheel spin is worse. Is there any way to launch better? Should I just go about 1/4 throttle until I move then floor it?

I got those potenza's that came with the car. I only got 3000 miles on them so they are still fairly new. When I torque break and launch, and release the break and go full throttle, I get about 3-4 seconds of wheel spin. If I go half throttle, I get about 2 seconds. Maybe these potenza's are just crappy.

I'm still in break-in, so I'm not flooring it or anything, but my front tires still break loose fairly regularly. I've never driven an automatic that can spin them so effortlessly. Even my 2K GXE needed to be floored on an incline to get the front tires to spin very much.

Street or Drag Strip?

Street: Better tires, or because colder weather.

Drag: Deflat tires to roughly 20psi and launch at a lower speed (pref. 1500rpms).
