P0011. Just great..... I need help
First of all, I've read through about 20 threads on this issue on multiple forums and am still coming up without success. I have also read the FSM.
I bought my 2002 I35 in July with 169K. It had the P0340 code and no other issues. The car would randomly stall while driving as well as have some trouble starting. I replaced the rear bank CPS with a Beck Arnley new part from Amazon. This fixed the problem and the car ran great. But within the next day I got the P0011 code. Car runs excellent without issue so I did some research and just let it be as it wasn't bothering me. Car's oil has been changed regularly at ~3000 miles prior to me purchasing it. Oil level is always maintained.
Later in the summer I installed NWP spacers, cleaned throttle body, changed plugs, and did the GAB mod. The P0011 code was still there but caused no issue driving wise. While I had the intake off I removed both IVT solenoids, cleaned them and tested them. They worked fine, and I put them back. Code still remained.
NOW, NJ inspections have changed and they say ANY code that begins with a P (most of them) has to do with emissions (ridiculous) and I failed inspection solely for the code being there.
Car has 174K and oil was changed 1K ago.
My question is: What is the best course of action from here? Should I try to swap my friend's CPS and see if it makes a difference? or should I pull off the valve-covers and try to clean out the cam wheel (IVTC vane)?
