I'm a newbie on this site

I need help with this issue that's really annoying

from 0 when I punch the gas full throttle... my RPM's Do not shoot up like fast but instead it just goes slowly up n up n up... but when I am on a rolling start... n punch full throttle the RPM's shoot up than only from 0 it won't shoot up, wha could be the problem here? cause I definitely know its not suppose to be like that, please help thanks

 

We need more info, such as the mileage of the car, how well you keep it tuned up, stuff like that. Also, do you have a SES light on?

 

I'm guessing that you have an auto trans. If so, try manual shifting, i.e., put lever in 1 and take off from a stop. Maybe the transmission isn't shifting into 1st gear when you are stopped.

 

118,000 miles.... automatic tranny... n yea I have the check engine light on but that's for my catalyst converter n knock sensor
