Just bought a Max, have a stupid question.

I just picked up my Max Tuesday and so far I love it. In anycase mine has the memory seating with the exit function. Well it doesn't seem to do anything. Whether it's in the auto position or the cancel position. Now, I have a 6 Speed which I read in the manual is not supposed to even have the exit option. Why does my car have the switch though it the damn thing doesn't work?

Any ideas?

Thanks
Steve

You're right that the entry/exit feature is not applicable to the 6-speed. I assume they use the auto tranny to know the car is parked.

But why the 6-speed still has the cancel/enable switch... who knows.

There are two switches, the one on the door is the memory and you ahve to program it or it won't do anything. The one on the left side below the instrument panel is to turn it on or off. When set to auto the memory seats will work, if set to off...well you know. Sadley I've had my car for 5 weeks this Friday and I just found the memory seat on/off switch 3 fays ago. Enjoy your new car.

The auto/cancel switch on the instrument panel is for the entry/exit feature only (where the seat moves back for you when you turn the car off). The door-panel memory switches work independently of the dash switch (once they're programmed). The entry/exit feature (and thus the auto/cancel switch) is not applicable on the 6-speed so he is wondering why he still has a switch on his dash that does nothing.
