White smoke back of engine after water pump replacement PLEASE HELP!

Sorry if there is a post somewhere that I have missed but I have searched on google and on here multiple times and have not came up with what may be going on. I just replaced my water pump on my 2000 Nissan Maxima SE and now I am having smoke coming from the back of the engine compartment. It smells sort of like antifreeze but I cannot put my finger on it. I am going to look at the hoses around the throttle body and so forth but I would think any leaking coolant would be hitting the ground as well. I have put a cardboard box underneath and nothing. It is like billowing smoke coming through where the spark plugs behind the UIM. I have changed my UIM gasket once before but I really do not want to go there again. The car was not smoking like this before the water pump change. There was coolant that came out into the timing chain cover when removing the water pump but I have then changed the oil as well. Anybody have any ideas? I looked around the area in back of the spark plugs and cannot see any leaks.

Might just be burning off the antifreeze that spilled during the job?

I appreciate the responses I would think the excess coolant would have burnt off by now its been a couple days so I am not sure. Also with the new water pump I thought if any of the o rings would have got nicked I would have the same problem before I changed the water pump with the coolant leaking behind the crank pulley. I appreciated you guys responses. I am going to put it up on ramps here in about a hour to see if I can see anything leaking on the manifold to cause the smoke. Does anybody know if those seals on the waterpump if damaged would cause smoke in back of the UIM?

I hope I dont have to change the waterpump again I'd be kinda pissed but hey if I did it right the first time I wouldnt have this problem. Also does anybody know if coolant got into the timing belt cover would that directly go into the oil or would it leak out other places as well because that may be the problem.

No the head gasket is not gone at least not to my knowledge the temp has never gone up above the half way mark. The water pump connects directly into the engine and I think thats how the coolant got into the oil. I am going to try to replace the water pump on Monday and I will let you guys know what the outcome is. Never had this much issues replacing anything on my car.

Well I tried to change out the water pump and now I cannot get out the one that I installed. I did everything to the FSM but cannot get the timing chain around the water pump to get it out. I turn back the crank pulley 20 degrees and already took out the tensioner. Now I am at a stand still, I may just have to get it towed to a shop.
