Exhaust help!

Ok so i have a full obx setup, headers y pipe and exhaust 2 and half inch i believe. Im looking to change it but i cant decide on what i want, brand and piping size. My boy convinced me to get the megan OE-rs catback, but idk how i feel about the sound, he has one. I really want the cattman 3" but realistically its damn near hard to get and the price is very high. My choices are, Cattman, brm maybe, megan, hks and possibly vibrant. As for piping should i move up to 3"? I already lost major low end from the bop, Port n polish and ssim mods so let me know what you guys think, thanks brothas!

Cattman 3" has been shown to put down hp across the board, even low end.
There is a misconception about low end loss in large diameter exhausts.

Goddamn, didn't know that. But in the event I can't get cattman, and go with brm 3" with possibly a resonator, would kind power would I see across the powerband? I have a vafc2 and wideband, which isn't wired yet.

Well you better call Cattman now hes about to start another batch...if you want one...

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...get-batch.html

I mean sure all will sound good but I just love the sound of that Cattman, your in NY I think and plenty of Maximas so you should know what sound you like best and if Cattman to high save a little longer if thtas what you really want....

Bro I heard the cattman in person and I got goosebumps! My buddy is here parting his car out and had a full cattman system, fastcat, ypipe, headers and catback. But I had just bought a fresh 300zx bbk from someone here and it set me back. Truthfully, I have a long list of stuff for my now uninsured car. Moog endlinks which I have, driver side axle which I also have, bearing, hub, coilovers which I want, inner and outer tie rods, powdercoating my sers, new tires, new top and bottom hids, diagnosing this annoying add random multiple.misfire so its not exactly high on the list of stuff but I fear by time I get the cash I will miss this batch :'(....

Cars will differ on hp put down based on many factors. The one dyno I saw comparing 3" over 2.5" saw approximately (iirc) a 5-10 hp gain at low end......again, over the 2.5".

Well just wait for one to pop up and handle all the other stuff since you already have a exhaust, 2.5'' and 3'' you already know is Cattman, BRM or Custom...why waste dollars on another 2.5....

And these gains were with the cattman? Bananas....it doesn't workout I wanna be the second person here with the brm, but my gains and sound will be totally different since I have all bolt ons and every breather mod done.

What's been mentioned is really just reiteration from dozens of threads just like this. Not sure what else can be said on the topic.

Is the exhaust your only major performance mod other than the IM? I would just stick to what you have if it is and if you are not happy with the sound just invest in a different muffler because even if you go to 3" and keep the same muffler it will sound a lot the same just a deeper tone and louder

Nah i have other performance mods. I mean the car is pretty fast as it is, i dont launch or do burnouts or even race the car, but i bought it this way so might as well take advantage. But the obx is got annoying after awhile, but i figure if i want to change it for sound reasons might as well look into performance gains as well.
