Thanks for your help.

I bought the CV shaft, I'll probably install it next weekend. Thanks again TallTom for your help. Also, on a side note, I had the evap system smoke tested today, we didn't see any signs of a leak anywhere in the system. Any ideas what else could be causing the P1440 code?

I'll have the CV shaft installed this Saturday, and the evap leak fixed. Then I can focus on selling/trading the car.

Yeah I'm getting tired of it. I want a car that's faster. So I'm looking to get either a 5.5 Gen Maxima, or a G35.

The only thing that worries me about the G is, that the 6 speed only comes in RWD. and I live in an area that gets a good amount of snow. So I'm leaning more towards the 5.5 Gen, plus I'm familiar with that car already, my mom has an 03, and it destroys my Maxima.

I just spent 4900 on a pearl white 2003 with 130k in immaculate condition. Like not one scratch. Its an automatic. Judge from that

I'm in New England though, everything seems to be more expensive in this area.

So does anyone think getting this car for like $3500 is a bad deal? It looks pretty clean.

The one posted above, from Leavitt or whatever? Yeah there's somethignw rong with that car. Oil burner, perhaps? That's too low of a price..I'd expect dealers to list that car in my area for 5K...he wants to unload that one for some reason...oil burner or Sandy car maybe?

Dont' get be wrong, it's a good deal. BUt the very fact that it's a good deal is reaising red flags. Get a vehicle inspection of course, and a Carfax or AutoCheck and run the VIN.

nope. just some. Watch out for the pre-cat issues as well on the 5.5gen, they basically disintegrate and then you're in for a bad time

The precats disintegrated on my 5th Gen, luckily I removed them before they could harm the engine.

Winter tires are all you will need to drive in the winter with a RWD G35. Plenty of them on the road, but don't try it without winter tires.

Ok, so I just pulled the old CV shaft, and all my transmission fluid just poured out of the hole, now I've done CV shafts before, and I've never had this happen. Could this be a seal in the transmission that went bad?

Overfull transaxel is about the only thing that would cause much oil to come out. A little is normal.

If it's leaking from the bottom of the seal the seal is bad. You should be replacing the seal regardless every time you tamper with it, obviously replacing a CV axle falls into this category.

Nissan dealership tells me its normal for all the gear oil to drain out when you pull the shaft, I just added new gear oil to it and it should be fine.

I think the manual trans will drain out when an axle is pulled.

Ok I wasn't sure. Its the first cv shaft that ive ever done on this car, so thats why I was nervous. My Sentra didn't spill out any fluid when I pulled the axle, maybe its just a Maxima thing.

So this is a problem that I've been dealing with since I've owned my car. Right as soon as I start the engine, the RPMs shoot up to like 1200, than drop all the way to the point where the car almost shuts off. But something catches and suddenly the RPMs idle normally. Does this sound like a MAF sensor problem?

no, sounds more like IACV.

The RPMs will shoot up to 1200 or so on cold-start, this is normal. When they drop down they should drop down to normal idle at around 750.

Wouldn't I be throwing a code for an IACV problem? The only engine code I have is the P1440 code.

I'm bringing my car to get inspected on Saturday, but I already know that it's going to fail. At least, I'll get the clear inspection sticker, which will buy me some time to get the P1440 code fixed.

My car had been sitting over night, I started it up, drove to the gas station, (Didn't get gas) and when I came out of the store; the car started fine, and then the idle feel to zero and the car stalled. I tried it again, same thing. So on the third try, I gave it gas right after start up, and it stayed running and idled fine, and stayed running all the way back home, and I haven't had this problem since. Maybe it's time for a new MAF sensor and a good throttlebody cleaning?

I know this thread kind of moved on from warpspeed fitment issues, but I finally put mine on yesterday (after getting it about a year ago!!) and thought I'd share...

So overall fitment seemed good. However, once the y-pipe was on, there was absolutely no clearance between the resonator section of my megan cat-back and the cross-memeber under it, where it previously cleared... I tried swapping out the rubber isolators to new/stiffer ones, and I only gained a marginal amount of clearance.

Other than that, my shipment time was about a month and a half, but I was patient with them. It also came wrapped in a Hefty bag as some of you mentioned, but the box was in great shape overall.

So today I noticed while sitting in my car, without the engine running or the key in the ignition, that there is some sort of buzzing sound coming from somewhere in the car, it can even be heard while playing music. I'm pretty sure there is no power going to my speakers when the car is off, plus I know what a blown speaker sounds like, can anyone thing of what could be causing this?

when the key isn't even in the ignition? Nothing is powered at that point except whatever's direct on the battery (headlights for example)

I just figured it out. It was the battery jump pack that's in my trunk, there was a pin that came out, and I guess it makes a weird buzzing noise.

I can't wait to get rid of the Maxima. The turning radius in this car is the worst. I really want to go with a G35 for my next car, but I'm afraid that I'll have the same issue with that car.

Move onto different brand?

OR

Buy newer model?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinit...C_2006-2013.29

It says 2007+ onwards equals no more VQ35DE....

I'd like to stick with Nissan/Infinite, and I'm pretty sure that all of the cars newer than 07, are automatics. Which is what I don't want.

I've got the Max up for sale now, I would like to get at least $2000 for it. I don't think that's unrealistic.
