Gas question

Hey guys, I have a 2000 GLE with about 193k miles on it.

I've had this car for the last 93k miles. It's a very well taken care of car, oil
is changed every 3500 miles, air filter replaced every 6 months, etc.

Lately I've been getting some pretty poor gas mileage and I'd like to know
the best brand of fuel to run in the car and what sorts of additives help out.

I usually run 89 from Shell or BP, but my mileage has been sinking down into the low 20 average range, and every couple tanks I used a fuel system cleaner to help reduce the effects of the ethanol in gasoline now.

What gasoline brand usually does the best for your 5th gen?

I apologize if already posted,
J

The manual tells me what octane to use.

The manual doesn't tell me which brand of gas that performs the best, you're kidding me if you're saying all gas companies are created equal.

Brand is differentiated SOLELY by the detergents used in the gas when mixed at the distribution plant. Before it gets to the distribution plant, all fuel is also Non-ethanol. So which detergent is better? Whichever is cheapest IMHO. Which fuel is best? Non-ethanol.
