Ahhh... **** it. Going to the junkyard tomorrow to pull a flywheel from a 5MT. Gonna call up Mr. English from emerald performance to work his magic on the FW. He's done it on a local 5.5 gen already that went from auto to 95-01 5MT. I'm just gonna throw it in with the stock flywheel for now and save that cash for a LW one for the 6MT.

6MT will come in due time. But I need to get this 3.0 out asap. I think it's just about done. Pulled a friend of a friend's cammed and tuned '00 si civic that revs to the moon just now and it's making some noises I don't like.

 

I saw that. I'm just going to keep the 5MT for now. I'll wait till I find an HLSD unit in perfect condition and spend the money on it. This is going to save me about $700 I can use while I trouble shoot any issues I might have coming up.

Alright. Question for you guys. If you run a MAF in the 5.5 without the thermistor, it will still run fine aside from the timing being retard by default because the ECU is not seeing a signal at all correct?

But the MAF itself is what reads the air flow right? That sends feedback to the ecu and based on that, tells the injectors what to do. I thought the tempurature reading just determined timing maps. Generally, warmer temps = less timing and cooler temps = more. Atleast that's how the 95-01 temp sensors work if I remember correctly.

 

salmon is basically trout that have migrated to saltwater and back.during spawning the fish burn all the amino acids in there muscles basically causing the meat to rot one of the reasons the fish die after spawning

 

also may cause limp mode and typical maf bad symptoms the therm is about $.80 the new maf about $78

It's not really the motor that makes it hard to turbo. It's the chassis that it's in that determines difficulty.

Either way. Even if the car starts and drives in limp mode, the hard part of the swap was a success. I was just going to use my stock 01 MAF to get it running.
