5th gen has manual linkage bushings.

5.5 is cable actuated.

You recal Correctly, they're 100% completely different.

M6, both of them. The one that holds the bracket is likely 15mm to 20mm. The one that holds the block to the bracket is obviously longer, but IDK exactly. I'm guessing 30mm to 35mm. Take it out and measure it.

As for product... I like Mequiars products a whole lot.

Certainly different if you're thinking about the banjo bushings on each end of the 6MT shifter cable, but what about the four bushings underneath the shifter assembly?

Smile of the day
A man, wanting to rob a downtown Bank of America, walked into the branch & wrote “this iz a stikkup. Put all your muny in this bag.” While standing in line, waiting to give his note to the teller, he began to worry that someone had seen him write the note and might call the police before he reached the teller's window. So he left the Bank of America and crossed the street to Wells Fargo. After waiting a few minutes in line, he handed his note to the Wells Fargo teller. She read it and surmising from his spelling errors that he wasn’t the brightest light in the harbor, told him that she could not accept his stickup note because it was written on a Bank of America deposit slip and that he would either have to fill out a Wells Fargo deposit slip or go back to Bank of America. Looking somewhat defeated, the man said, “OK” and left. He was arrested a few minutes later, as he was waiting in line back at Bank of America.

I don't get it. My first impressions on the 05 is that other than the 3.5 which i think is just the cats meow, I like the way my 00 feels. The 00 seems to handle better, feels WAY more nimble, and seems to take high speed corners much smoother. Once i get more used to the 05, and start changing it, (Tires, suspensions etc) I may like it more. As of right now i like the idea of keeping the 05 as my stock DD, and swapping a VQ35 into the 00, and then F/I. I already know i couldn't do the swap myself, (Don't have the tools or the time, and my know how is slightly iffy for the swap) So what would i need besides the actual engine, wiring harness and the $$?

EDIT: OH i forgot to mention, i threw a rod in the 95 winter beater. Expect a part out thread soon enough.

Your '05 has an independent rear suspension. Odd that you think your 2000 handles better on high speed corners than a Maxima SE which is five years newer. So many factors, though. The two most obvious of which are tires and weight difference.

I'm almost 100% sure it's the tires. Michelin Pilots, vs Goodyear Eagle GT's. The other thing, is that the 00 is a few hundred pounds lighter, that may have something to it.

Yup. I'm also wondering if The front swaybar linkage is broken/cracked, As it seems to have too much body roll.

Those tires are so far apart from each other in performance. What Pilot's are you running on the other car? PS2?

That's exactly why i'm 100% sure it's the tires :P
I'm running 235/40/18 SuperSports on the 00. I'm going to get a set for the 05 tomorrow, and report back

Those new Super Sport's are nice. So if you're going to make a more fair comparison between the two, having matching tires will help there.

Knowing you as I do, I can only speculate that you're somehow referring to the actual gear shift assembly bracket that mounts to the floor.

Is that different? Dunno. Looks different. I'd assume it is, but who knows.
They don't wear out, they don't need replacement.

Never had one, and never will.

I know I can get you a good one for $500 though, maybe even that much shipped....

I listed the importance of cornering a few pages back when me and chift_macks were goin at it.

Weight + Tires play a big role in cornering.... Wait uh minute...

That's the most immediate difference, tires can make a Miata handle like a Maxima and a Maxima handle like a Miata....

Nothing is the same between 6mt and 5mt.

The 6mt shifter is a non-serviceable part, while the 5mt is.

This was my impression. And I"m pretty sure there's not even rubbers or anything between the mount to the floor think it's just bolts anyways.
