That's the ONLY reason to want those dinosaur relics.

no there are like 9 different ZX calipers 3 casting sizes in iron 3 casting sizes in alum and 3 different piston sizes for both and there are 2 styles of rear caliper drum version caliper and jdm disc with e-brake

alum is less unsprung weight which has the same affect as dropping wheel weight. Iron cal's are stronger and wont get cracks in them under high loads. But I dont think anybody on here has to have that kind of strength. I chose alum for less unsprung weight. THe different versions have different pictons as well. Just little **** they are all good

if you could only find the jdm with e-brake on them and get the 11.5 rotors to match BBK for the rear of a maxima

Bish, lets see a Pikachu take a Hydropump and not faint.

Game. Set. Match.

In terms of abuse... Cast Iron > Alumn.

But Alumn can dissapate heat quickly unlike Cast Iron..... But in the end, the structual integrity of your brake calipers should NEVER be compromised.

If the maximas had drum rears( lol I know I know just saying) the 300zx would be a bad upgrade because the brake bias would be too much but being we have disc every 300zx caliper you would come across is an upgrade. Then get the year rotors to match, get them milled somewhere that is high quality and then get some SS lines and you have got a brake set-up that is up to taking any down the mountain road

no way in hell I would have put these calipers on if we had drums in the rear. Do you know how fast you would go through pads? The rear just couldnt keep up. Ask phatboi about year drums he has a Honda right?

the drum in disc was only for the e-brake on the zx

no I meant if the max came from the factory with drum's in the rear. Hypothetical situation showing when the ZX upgrade wouldnt be so good

why with most cars that did use a drum rear brake the bias was 70/30 so the drum was only used during hard braking and with the zx the drum was only for the e-brake so it served really no purpose but the jdm version used all disc with no drum e-brake and the e-brake pads were only like 3" for the drums they wouldnt last a day if used

lol... like i said this will be 70% form 30% function... so i guess the real question should be, are all the brake calipers for the 300zx considered an upgrade for a 00-01 maxima and will they work? like i said, dont care about the weight, just long as the stop better, my maxima unless i boost wont even see over 220whp lmao and be driven more by my fiance at 70mph max more than me at @120mph
