I used a front brake kit that extends the bracket back to fit the OEM caliper on with a 12.8" rim.

and on the back brakes I used FASTBRAKES rear brake kit that has bracket to move OEM caliper back and use a 12.1" rotor.

I also upgraded to SS brake lines. I think thats going to be just fine.

take it you meant rotor... why do i need the calipers moved to the rear??? i actually like how they look in the front more... just me.. nothing of extreme fancy... if coating the 6th gen calipers looked as good then that wouldve been the choice... i just want a pretty looking brake setup... 300zx calipers (painted in some color of my choice) and some nice rotors lol dats all nothin more fancy

ramnas has stock calipers all around.

He has relocation kits for both front and rear so he can use a larger rotors WITH the stock calipers, front and rear.

No, perhaps I explained that wrong.

On the front brakes. I used the OEM calipers. I bought a kit that uses brackets to move the OEM calipers out more to accept a 12.8" rotor.

On the back I used the OEM rear calipers and bought a kit that uses brackets to move the OEM calipers out to accept a 12.1" rotor.

That is what Im talking about. Nothing fancy, no big Brembo brake calipers, no 300zx calipers...all OEM....just stock OEM calipers. Only thing I did was buy all new calipers for the front and rear since the car had 115k miles on it.

Huge weight difference. Calipers felt heavier than when I changed the brakes on my cousins navigator.

o.k another question, CJ said should stick to the 95-96 calipers... my question, are all the models of the 300zx 95-96 calipers the BBK caliper upgrade for maximas???... the reason im asking is #1 i dont know anything of those cars, i actually cant even stand the look of them (but thats another topic) i just simply want to know if the 95-96 turbo or non turbo 300zx the "lighter" calipers that i should get... the calipers i found was from the 96... im not sure if the calipers are different from *whatever year they start-94 and then lighter in 95-96 or is it a case where the heavier brakes is on the non turbo and lighter on the turbo car or vice versa??? yall nikkaz confusing the noob lol

The following is a comparison of some different Z32 300ZX brake calipers.

The "26mm Aluminum" calipers were used ONLY on 1990 non-turbos. They used a 280mm x 26mm rotor.

The "30mm Aluminum" calipers were used on 1990 Twin-turbos and ALL 1991-1992.5 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They used a 280mm x 30mm rotor.

The "30mm Iron" calipers were used on ALL 1992.5-1996 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They also used the 280mm x 30mm rotor

this last one was revised and upgraded to the alum caliper due to consolidation of part numbers

i guess to avoid the aluminum one is to just get a 95-96 300zx caliper.... that couldve been said a tad easier, but the chart does help

in reality as long as its the alum one and says NISSAN on it you will be ok there is only a 4mm piston difference and the 30mm uses a SS piston and the 26mm uses a castiron piston there is also a 6lb difference between the alum and castiron one where the difference between the 2 alum ones is only 12oz

Thats a crapload of money for a couple pieces of aluminum. And then tell me that 'so what' they're all scratched to hell? That's "normal"? No... Come on man.

If this moron doesn't make a reasonable reimbursement I'll deny his money and make it my daily job to slander his products all over the forum.
