Headers? No...

Probably going to go with a Warpspeed Y. It's a 2000 Fed spec, so it removes the entire pre-cat assembly and bolts directly to the exhaust manifolds on both sides.

Yup. I'm debating whether to get the Y with or without a Magnaflow cat. If I do get one with a new cat, i'll have to change out the cat-back since I had the resonator deleted and a new pipe was welded to be back of the cat.

MB supports Xfire 2/3/4 & SLI 2/4. All current & legacy interfaces. It's even got ATA133 & floppy controllers. Does all kinds of ish. I could probably even access 360K floppies if need be.

It's got XP Pro SP3 on it now, probably won't cost a dime to keep using the old box. Just a XP re-install & setup for that purpose.

A Warpspeed Y is $199, and it's $319 with a Magnaflow cat, and includes new bolts, gaskets, and a hangar. Not bad.

I'm leaning towards just getting a Y for now, and worrying about the rest of the exhaust later since it's still in good shape. The factory muffler actually has a nice subtle tone to it with the resonater deleted, and I want to see how it sounds after the Y since it won't have pre-cats anymore.

IIRC, doesn't XP Pro have the SOHO client/server ish, XP home didn't?
I'm toying w/the idea of using it as a Linux box. Make a better server that way.

Good price, just don't like Magnaflow ceramic core cats. Spring ~$250 for an SRS catback when the time comes, you'll be good for the duration.

assuming T-behr still has a stock catback and thinking of going with a Y-pipe and high flow cat or test pipe, i can tell him for a sure fact that the "subtle" tone he thinks that factory exhaust have can be thrown out the window lol... it will be a deep, louder, and raspy tone... for $319 he might as well, either get a catback or save the extra and get OBX headers... there is far less "fitment" issues than others make it out to be... the absolute only con to the OBX headers from my experience was the location of the rear o2 sensor... the sound is far more superb than any Y-pipe on the market, including cattman's Y.... sound is similar if not the same as cattman headers... in todays day, y-pipes are becoming more pointless as headers offer more power and definately a more tolerable sound over an unequal length Y-pipe

I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. If it doesn't sound how I like, i'll add a resonator of some sorts. Manny likes the Moroso spiral flow he installed on his car.

From the research i've done, a Y for the 3.0 sees pretty good gains. And i'm on a budget so headers aren't gonna happen at the moment. It's also a daily, so i'm not looking to extract maximum power, either.

Right now i just want to get rid of the rotting stock Y to get rid of the rattle/clunk i'm getting from it, and the Warpspeed Y seems to be a cost effective replacement/upgrade.

lol so is 95% the cars here with headers.. they are daily... im just trying to help prevent the mistake i made but i guess everyone has their own preferences... i would never recommend y-pipe to anybody simply because to me its less than settling, if the power gains outweighs driving around sounding like a staight piped v6 camaro then sure go for it... ive owned 4 VQ30's... 3 of which was modded

That's less than the ~$50=shipping a Moroso costs in mild steel. Moroso SS $100. + shipping. Nice muffler but IDK if it's worth the $$$.
