It's an idea. Not sure what i'd go with, if anything right now. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Another thing I was looking at when I was at my local auto parts store was this Magnaflow glasspack style muffler. It uses some sort of acoustical sound deadening material rather than the old style fiberglass. They weren't expensive, either... around $30ish I think.

 

Right now I only need a new Y, since the factory pre-catted Y is rotting out and clunking around. The rest of the exhaust behind that is in good shape. Right now i'm only looking at replacing what needs to be replaced. If I want to change the rest of it out later as the budget allows, I will do so, just not right now.

 

I got one of those for $65 shipped sitting in the garage too. For when the headers go on. Gotta get the rad support/rear fenders fixed 1st. Rust never sleeps & it's getting closer to the door frame. GD salt/winter ?@#$%&*!(insert slew of Italian curses)!!!

that las pic reminds me of how bad of shape the car was in when i got it the struts were so bad that they came apart that was the only one where it didnt just fall in pieces the plunger rods were destroyed and fell right out when i turned the strut upside down

The lessons learned that morning were two-fold: 1) Ryan is a heck of a good driver, and 2) Traction Control is a detriment to auto-x. Likely valuable on the larger track, and certainly when ramping the highways, but totally in your way on a short auto-x course. And certainly a bother off the line...

...speaking of which, merovi would be the first to tell you, the G 6MT has mucho ***** off the line.

But props where they're due on the day: merovi beat me in auto-x by 0.99 seconds, and he certainly earned the win.
