I plan on using 'em in the engine bay, where the M6 bolts go. Replace the bolts and throw these type things on 'em...not sure yet if I'm gonna paint the washers BT4 or polish 'em up (Thanks Roch for the tips on that)...will try each and figure which looks better.
Basically replacing what's currently there with these (and those type washers with the rubber backing):

Coincidentally, I have a handful of polished titanium bolts, nuts and washers coming my way this week from DressUpBolts.com. Excellent resource, and a beautifully designed bolt.

That will work fine. Just polish them before use.

I rarely post but I work with vet clinics and shelters everyday. I will say shelter is the best way because the dog will most likely be put down in there. Breeders are good but you HAVE to find a reputable one that bred the dogs correctly with true pure breds. Just whatever you do, never ever ever buy a dog from a pet shop. Like the ones in malls and shopping centers. If its a store (except pet smart) don't do it. They get their dogs from puppy mills. It's the most sad thing ever. Most people think they're saving them by buying them but in reality they are making it much worse. Just go google puppy mills and where pet shop dogs come from. Very sad.
Basically, try your hardest to rescue a dog. If not, go to a breeder. But just please don't go into a pet shop.
You should never 'buy' a dog. You should adopt from a shelter. And if you get it from a breeder, it's not a like a exchange of money and merchandise. Your paying for the hard work it took to breed them correctly, with the right dogs, In a good environment.

Every shelter is different, depending on the people operating them, and their funding. Most people involved with animal shelters are far better humans than you or I. So if someone had a bad experience at a shelter, I'm less inclined to blame the organization than I am to suspect the prospective pet owner.
However, I have run into a few crazies and arrogant jerks over the years, too. There is no blueprint on the right thing to do or the people you're dealing with. Like I said, generally they're very caring, decent people.
Good luck, and please try harder with the rescue approach.
Either way, as long as you take responsible care of your pet, it's all good.

hear is another reason why i was left with a sour taste in my mouth for shelters. Ive searched and driven to numerous locations to look at dogs, find the random petsmarts that they show up to and wait hours for a specific dog in the DC/MD/VA and i found the only one dog that made my eye gloomy and they are going to say no u cant get *insert stupid dogs name* but you can take this beagle..... motherfcuker do i look like i travelled down this bish for a fcukin beagle...

But when you work with titanium parts you might know what I'm saying.
Or not. Everyone is different.
There is an amazing, intangible quality to polished titanium that gives me that "want it" reaction. Some people are like that with gold, I suppose. Not that they're even remotely the same thing, it's just an example.

I think my main aversion is that I've got it in the back of my mind that I WILL be painting over some/most of them, so the disconnect is with that. Why buy the expensive bling if I'm gonna paint over it?
...aaand with the kid on the way, $$$ is paramount
