5th gen Off Topic Thread (Official Ghustle thread v1)
Not entirely true. Dodge's parts are cheap and overall their V8 engines are very reliable and not prone to self-destruction. My uncle has a 2002 Dodge Ram with the same 4.7L V8 that goes in the Dakota and it has 150+ K on it and he changes the oil... The only thing he complains about on the big Ram is a lack of power with the baby V8 and bad mileage. But his truck weighs over 6000 pounds being a crew cab long bed 4X4, so that's understandable. People need to get over the old stigma that Chrysler's vehicles are all crap because they are just not anymore. Now, I wouldn't buy a V6 car to save my life! They are crap! But any of their V8's are good ol' pushrod engines that are very simple and they just go and go.
IMO (US Vehicles/Trucks) Ford/Chevy, then Dodge. i like the look of dodge trucks, but i'd never get one
And what im starting to find out is often times in our late generation doesnt seem to have a mind of its own, there is so much available to the local public and susceptible to soooo much media hype, "negative publicity", and or scrutiny. That its where the "i dont care", or surrendering to the majority's opinions or belief comes in, so when one person actually stand up for his or her belief (like the owner did) it becomes this great attention that most people rather not have so they lose their beliefs and sell their souls and play hypocrites... the weakness of our generations and generations to come...
It is amazing how many people just "follow" along. My wife brought this whole thing up on her facebook and she and some of her friends actually had a calm, peaceful discussion about the whole thing. They were going back and forth and my wife took a direct quote from the Chick Fil A CEO as to what he said and a couple people in the conversation who were against what he said, went "Well, now that I see what he said, it doesn't sound what everyone made it out to be." How do you have a constructive argument if people do not even know what the are arguing about. You don't even know the basis of what you are trying to argue against.
Well, that's my last on the topic. Going out on the boat. See you later.
welcome to the club man... like i tell almost all owners this is something almost every owner that lives in a state that gets cold will have to deal with sooner than preferred... do it now, mines got bad and messed my hood

Your point on hypocrisy is on target too. I blame the political correctness BS. Because truth be told, in REAL life; There are boundaries, limits, personal responsibility, right & wrong. Not taking issue with questionable attitudes/behaviors & saying everything is OK. Amounts to hypocrisy of the highest order & regardless of your beliefs is a farce.
<SOAPBOX MODE OFF>
LMAO as far as US automakers go, Dodge/Diameler chrysler is ****...only one of their vehicles aside from their SRT line (not even SRT4 holds that great of value) is the cummins diesel...every other truck drops in major price when comparing year/mileage/price
