If you want faster remove all crapware disable all junk services.also on a new pc i would pop it open and reseat all the memory and vid cards because they may have moved a little during shipping to avoid issue in the future.you can also check the cashe on you hd if its below 32mb get something higher or one of them hybrid drives that uses flash memory as cashe memory they do work well.

That's right. Vista tried to have that ReadyBoost nonsense with a USB flash drive.

mSATA is laptop tech that's been moving into the workstation world. It's similar to hard drive cache, but on a much larger scale, and configured through the BIOS... assuming the chipset and board support it, which this one apparently does. You could also use it as direct drive space, but I think the benefits (if any) would be in general usage as cache, rather than relying on it as another drive letter.

Never mind, man. Thanks anyway. Happy Sunday.

The main problems are all these new fangled tech are cool if you NEED to work with them and their supported BUT if your doing the same OLD it may not support the new tech so it becomes redundant.remember add in sound cards?

I have a dedicated sound card (xonar D2 with brainbit drivers ). Integrated ones are junk. Yeah, they work, but don't expect any fidelity or encoding.

The main focus of getting this new PC up and running is so that I can work at home again, without having to VPN into the office and run Remote Desktop from one slow machine to another. In addition to the typical productivity software, I'm using SQL Server 2008, Visual Studio 2010 and PowerBuilder 11.5... so whatever I can do to make those things *POP* when loading and unloading, the better.

I think what I'm going to do is continue researching mSATA, and just sit tight for a while. None of these things are making this new machine even remotely break a sweat. The 2T hard-drive has 32mb onboard cache, while the board is configured with 16g RAM and a quad-core CPU.

I'm just exploring what I got, is all.

I placed the bagel on a paper towel and those two things were what I saw sitting around that I could place with the bagel for a size comparison on how huge these things are. They are double the size of bagels you buy in the grocery store (Lender's, Thomas) and they taste much better, too.

I was watching the women's volleyball on the olympics, and there was a wrist injury.

I should be ok in a few days, though.

The announcers said it though, it's why that Japanese cat had everyone in the first 30m and then got smoked.

Usain takes like 3 less strides than ANYONE, it's damn near hard enough to make up 1 step in a race, but 3?!?!?!?!

My man from Japan tho had everyone sweatin, came off dem blocks like a champ, but them short legs won't be able to keep him in the race.

OAN: I saw the women's 100m race, I coulda got a medal in dat bish, time for a sex change
