Those BBS look just like the wheels my (former) neighbor had on his G20 w/ the turbo SR20VE. He took them apart & had the webs powder-coated gunmetal graphite. They looked F'n A!

I really don't know, but I surmise that being a Moderator on one of these forums is considered a privilege, and positioned that way it's 100% volunteer. Manny could answer that one for you.

But it seems once a mod, always a mod. Unless, I suppose, a bunch of mods ban together and get you stripped of your moderator powers. That would be weird. I wonder if there's a special ceremony for that?

Anyway, here's the last picture I was able to find of some of the originators of the Org. I think DanNy is the one in pink.

On the credit site, it works pretty much as above. Current mods and admins throw some name around for the next mod, and they all give input. One of the admins PMs the member if they're interested in becoming a mod, and if they say yes, then there ya go.

If anyone asks about being a mod, unsolicited, they're not considered for the position.

Mods can't strip other mods of powers...that's what Supermods and Admins are for

And yeah, pretty much once a mod, always a mod. Unless you get all power-tripped, the admins will put you in line.

Certainly the Admin has some kind of stake in the forum, right? Probably not a flat fee, but a small percentage of site revenue. I wonder what that is? I remember reading once some years ago that there's about $50k annual in direct revenue between membership and advertisements, but I don't recall where I got that number from.

50k a year as a forum admin?

I need to come up with some ideas... for a forum.

Yes, there is. Usually fueled by various advertisements. Which, in the case of the credit site, sucks at times. We're a proponent of "do it yourself" credit repair and what-not, but we have ads for firms that claim to do it for you...it's sort of a fine line. Well, it IS a fine line in that regard.

afaik, the board owner is the only one getting paid from that site...the entire mod / admin team is volulnteer.

See this is how rumors are started. Damn it.

I said I thought total site revenue was 50K, not admin salary, if there is such a thing. Seriously, how much could that possibly be? It's hardly a full time engagement. 5 to 10 hours a month, tops. Or zero, if you delegate properly to responsible volunteers.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. I'll look into other career opportunities.

That is fake and groups you with millions of other forum members(not this forum specifically just in general) who are all talk. I don't like those people who come to a forum to act like a BA or something but when it comes down to it they dont do half of what they say or in his case 0%
