Pretty sure Seymour isn't clashez.

I'll verify with CJ, but I'm confident it's not.

Pace car badging? I've never heard of a GN being used for a pace car. What race does it represent on the badging?

Let me know i'm very curious about that. The only Regal I know of that was used as a pace car was in 81 for the 65th Indy 500.

This is the 81 model here...

That's correct. It also received other go-fast goodies and that year they would do mid-13's in the 1/4 mile and 0-60 under 5 seconds.

It has always been one of my favorite cars... AT and dull, pimpish interior notwithstanding.

Are you serious about buying CJ's Grandfather's GN? I think that would be awesome.

The thought crossed my mind, but financially I don't know if i'd be able to.

I've always liked those cars. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid and still is to this day.

The GN's are collectors cars now. Go troll around AutoTrader for reference, you'll find most are going for $20K - $30K.

OMG, those interiors truly are hideous. Blech.

The problem with buying a car that has been stored for that long is the mechanical work that will be needed to get it on the road. Fuel system flush and complete fluid flush, all new rubber (tires, belts, hoses, etc), brake system overhaul, and the transmission. Automatic transmissions don't like to sit. All the internals and seals will be dry, and as soon as you put the power to it and get it through the gears, bad things will happen. The trans will have to come out and be taken apart and overhauled. That's probably 5 grand right there just doing all of that including the transmission overhaul.
