So you measured oil temp? Asking because I have the HD2 kit and had considered getting a cooler with a thermostat (winter temps can get below freezing).

I've actually been trying to get a quest or sienna as a 2nd car/for the wife. But she's the one who shot that idea down quickly. Lol. Might have another maxima joining us.

Well I have an aftermarket Mishimoto radiator and they don't make them for A/T. So I had to get a tranny cooler for the 4AT that is in my car right now. Most claim to cool by about 40 degrees over the stock set-up and that is probably about accurate. I would recommend them over the stock set-up only because you can put it right in front and get some really cool air. I think most transmission thermostats keep the fluid out of the cooler until about 160 degrees. I live in the south so really cold temperatures are not my problem. If you think you might need a thermostat for the cooler then get it. They aren't expensive and the install is simple. Most high end euro cars like BMW and such have them from the factory I believe. Hayden makes a good one and it is made in America

I've used Perma-cool cooler and thermostat and oil filter relocation on my turbo for engine oil...so yeah, hookup is not a concern or anything. I had just thought you originally said your cooler didn't do much better than stock.

Well it cant possibly cool it drastically because the capacity just isnt that big. I didnt measure the tranny oil temp after a drive before I switched though so I cant say for certain it cooled this much or didnt cool this much. I know for a fact it cools and keeps the temp in the right range because my tranny shifts like a champ

Did clashez actually come into this thread again with another fake SN? Again?

That's so sad. He had a chance long ago for people to take him seriously, but that ship sailed further away with every incomprehensible post. And now look at him. Friendless, brainless, helpless, hopeless. Unemployed... in Greenland.

You know that cold that just won't go away? The one that keeps getting worse and worse, and then appears to go away, only to resurface a few days later, and keeps doing so? Clashez is like said cold, except he's more like a cancer...

Given his career choice, I'm thinking it's more like gonorrhoea.

So... is Gary Cooper banned now, too? WTF, man? What a tool.

Pilots are more predictable and more forgiving at their limits of adhesion. I believe you will like them more than what you have on there now.

So tempting. I would love to swap out my 3.0 De-k for a 3.5 if only the shipping was not so much!

The GNX was an option package which was a one year only option in 87, the last year for the GN. Just a few under 550 were made, and the GNX package was done by McLaren.

From a collector/investment standpoint, the GNX hands down. If you want to find something cheaper to have fun with, then go with the Monte. It's the same chassis.

True, i'm 35 Younger gearheads would know about it.

I've always wanted a GN, but i could never get my hands on one. Bad timing when I didn't have the finances. I would find one affordable when I didn't have the money to get one, and when I did have the money I couldn't find one within my price range.

Alot of people buy them just to hold onto them for a little while and then they try to flip it. Or, they'll find a fixer-upper, but a few grand into it and keep it for a while and then try to sell it for what they put into it just to break even or lose money. The flip sellers don't budge on the price, but they will a little if you're going to pay cash, but I don't have 20+ grand in my bank account to do that.

I hope he kept the original wheels. The car loses quite a bit of value if not, because they're hard to find and sell for top dollar to find replacement wheels.

What did he sell it for?

Holy cow, I definately understand the production numbers and collectibility as
well as desirability. But not at that price. I've been in a GN and would be VERY happy there! You can find fantastic examples, restored for $10k all day long in East TN. There's at least 4-5 at about that price every year at the Rod Run and Grand Run in Pigeon Forge.

The GNX's are the ones that bring top dollar, especially if they're low mileage and in concours condition.

You can't find GN's here for 10K unless they need some work. 15K to 25K is what they go for depending on their condition and mileage. 20K is about the "average" going price.

I've also read where they're actually better coming aggressively out of the hole because they're slightly softer. So what minimal loss there is going sideways I'll get back shooting straight. At least, that's my bowl of BS and I'm going with it. LOL

But overall, I'm liking the idea of getting more than one season out of a $1000 set of tires.

I had both kids in the car last night, and was whipping around a series of traffic circles we have here. (Yeah, believe it or not, we have a stretch of highway that ends in 5 traffic circles.) Anyway, the 12 year old in the front seat was screaming at me and covering her face with her hands, while the 8 year old in the back seat was squealing in delight and telling me to "Do it again!"

Kids. So different.
