New Owner of a 5.5 Maxima

found this Maxima for my first car, and fell in love. It has 60,000 miles on it and is VERY clean.

any suggestions on what i can do for exterior looks. 255 hp is enough for my 1st car so im not looking to make it faster.

There are lots of little cosmetic things you can do. Best thing too do is just read through some threads on here, check out the members rides section and see what you like.

A few cheap cosmetic mods:

- Black out chrome window trim
- Black Grill
- Debadge
- Clear headlights

The best mods:

- Coilover suspension
- Short shift kit (If you are manual)
- Exhaust

Do some research and use the search function. There is a TON of info on here. Enjoy !

Wow, that is a clean and very well maintained 5.5 Gen Maxima. What did you pay for it if you don't mind telling? First you should tint the windows and if its a sunroof car, (I can't tell) get a wind deflector. You can also add some deflectors on the windows too, (if thats your taste). Is it a 6 speed or auto, if stick I would definitely recommend the "free" short throw shifter mod and maybe a CAI. I recently traded in my 6 speed for a 2010 Murano and I miss my stick. Oh and you can maybe get a set of 18in Z wheels too. Just a few ideas.

Its a 2002 SE. the guy stored it every winter and majority of the 60k miles were road trips with his wife out of state.

when he sold it to me ($6,500)
i saw his other cars and man this guy really appreciates them all well taken care of.

its not a stick unfortunately . and no sunroof . And how exactly do wind deflectors help out?.. cause i was interested in them. Rims and tint were on the list but i don't know what color would match this paint/ or if tinted windows would look good with this paint.

I researched so much and found a lot on how to make it faster but i dont need that right now haha. I like the first list you created. I thought these headlight were clear?.. coilover and exhaust will come in time, im saving up for that after the little add-ons and after i get rims

Man there is a lot of misinformation here...the best mods you can do to a 5th gen Maxima are lower it until the subframe hits and paint your wheels the brightest color you can find.

But seriously nice find it looks to be in good shape. As for looks if your wanting to keep it simple just get some tint, maybe get some red overlays for the amber in the taillights, clear corners, etc.

Felt the same way when I got my max last year, now WOT doesnt even impress me anymore. I want more power but maintenance takes precedence.

Nice car though man, hell of alot cleaner then my max was when I first got it.

tinted windows would go horrible with the color of that car, it looks clean without the tints keep it that way IMO.
