I feel that a good quality strut bar is worth getting. Alot of people will say a strut bar does s*** for handling, but then again one would question the product. I myself have a good experience with my quality strut bar.. try http://racinglineperformance.com/sho...&idcategory=12 Nothing but good reviews..

Bought mine on ebay...I DID notice a difference up front. Added a RSB a week or so afterward, thing is just PLANTED in turns, no body roll. Love both of 'em!

THey make damn good strut bars thats for sure. Strut bars DO serve a purpose but for the avg driver they do not. If you do not track your car and need all the help you can get with our crappy suspension then your money is better spent elsewhere

I thought there was only a fstb? Is there one for the rear too? Or is that a typo?

No typo...there is RSTB but if you don't have an RSB get that first! RSB>rstb every day of the week

I understand that any name brand fstb is probably of a higher quality, but i bought mine from ebay for around 30 shipped. Can't beat that...

Not a type-o. The RSTB is a minor bolt-on. Search "RSTB", spend a half-hour and read up.

In ROI terms for the 5th Gen Maxima: RSB > FSTB > RSTB

And if I had to weight them to each other, that would be 5 > 2 > 1

Is the front strut bar even really worth it then? Im debating between this and subframe collars for my next suspension upgrade...

Front strut bar before rear strut bar. Rear sway bar first, or @same time as fstb

Worth it for what... as a suspension mod? Well, yes, in its own right it's a valid suspension mod. Of course, like many things, the more expensive one that you buy (Stillen) tends to ruin the ROI because they all do the exact same thing. Your $30 FSTB will work just as well, and look acceptably well, too. However, you're asking which would I do between a FSTB and the subframe collars? My answer is get them both, but prioritize the subframe collars. And get the ES subframe bushings while you're at it.

You know, there's a whole different part of the equation which factors into this for some people, and that's engine bling. It's kind of hard to deny the engine bling win of the Racingline FSTB. (They make a fine battery tie-down, too.)

Agreed, I like how Roch put it, after havin these mods for some years now

FSTB is about a 2.5 out of 10 in feedback

You'll love the the subframe collars as that's the closest thing you can get to a LTB Stage II nowadays..

still wanting to try a RSTB but the cost due to being endangered doesn't jusity the 1.5 out of 10 feeling you would probably get

I'd even go so far as changing my RSB > FSTB > RSTB assessment ratio to 10:03:01 respectively.

If I had to change things to factor the subframe collars into it, I'd say RSB > FSTB > Collars > RSTB at 10:04:03:01

This an interesting approach to weighing mods against one another. I wonder what else we could compare? It could be a fun thread for a while.

I'd put the collars before any strut bar.

I think my RSB made the biggest difference....got a Stillen one. I dont think front strut tower bar matters at all...bought mine from eBAY it works. BUT if you really want to notice a big difference in suspencion, other than getting aftermarket suspension, get ES bushings in all the front suspension parts. makes A HUGE difference in the way the car performs....and ES subframe bushings. and mounts (if you have a manual).

Is there a particular brand that is recommended?

Mine is an ebay type bar. It does help the front end in reducing understeer since now, there is less flex. Not a miracle cure... but every little bit helps.
